My Process

Idaho WaterfallWhen it comes to finances, it's easy for anyone to procrastinate. I know what to ask you when the file folders finally come out of your desk.

During my consultations, my goal is to get to know you on a personal level.  I will ask questions such as:

  • What are your goals and time horizon?
  • What are your passions?
  • What are your financial fears?

Once I acquire a deeper understanding of your wants and needs, I am better able to design and implement a customized roadmap that reflects your specific situation. Although I am somewhat conservative by nature on a personal basis, I am flexible and can easily adapt to my clients' specific needs.

Maintenance and Review

Depending on your preference, we can meet as often as you want.  I recommend meeting at least semiannually to review your account.

In this meeting, which can be face to face or over the phone, we will go over investment performance and any lifestyle or goal changes that have occurred since the last time we've talked.  It is important to know your risk parameters and individual goals so we can structure a plan to help you pursue them.  I usually take two or three meetings with a new client to make sure I completely understand their financial picture.

I am continually on the lookout for different ways to help my clients pursue their stated goals while mitigating as much risk as possible.

An advantage of my age, I have had my own personal 401(k) and portfolio see many ups and downs, including the tech bubble and also the 2008 financial crisis.  I know from personal experience the emotions that one can go through.  I understand these emotions and how powerful they can be.  My goal is to help my clients stay the course and remain disciplined.
